Family Memory of the War

In 2012 the scientists of the National Museum of History of Ukraine in the Second World War established a humanitarian museum project "Family Memory of the War", aimed at personalizing military history, fixing and preserving the family's memory of the war.

Making up this project, the museum's scientists were counting on the implementation of feedback - a kind of museum "echo". They were not mistaken. Hundreds of families responded to the project. Museum collections have been supplemented with exciting family history of the war, more than 2000 museum items from family archives from different regions of Ukraine, on the basis of which numerous events took place, a series of exhibitions was created and held.

We invite all those who are not indifferent to the history of Ukraine, the history of their kind, to join and become participants of the project "Family Memory of the War". Take a look at your family albums, archives, record family war stories, memories, tales about the war in the fate of your family, as well as those who are now defending the Ukrainian land in the battles of the East of Ukraine, inserts own page into the military history of our people.

These materials will be included in the project database, which will be another source for studying the history of the Second World War, as well as the basis for new humanitarian program of the project, such as the series of publications "Family Memory of the War", exhibitions "The War in the Fate of One Family" , memorial events "Pages of family albums", etc. Your family and you will become the heroes of these programs and events. Your family will unite around this fire of family memory, which you will be able to save for the next generations. We are waiting for your feedback.
